Project number 103811000493-CUP G62B17004110004

1) Data of the investment project

The initiative that ECOIN srl , a company specifically established in 2006 and operating in the waste collection sector for private individuals and the public administration, aims to expand its production capacity by aiming at a technological upgrade of the equipment used, consistently with the regional strategy S3 SMART CITIES & COMMUNITIES and ENERGY AREA.

The program plans to expand its core business of waste collection through an investment program that involves the following investment areas:

– Vehicles and auxiliary equipment

– Individual equipment

– Website and App

Furthermore, the investment will also allow mediated and transversal to:

– reduce the environmental impacts of production systems, thanks to the reduction of the consumption of resources with systems (vehicles) and procedures (separate collection with accumulation in roll-off cisterns that allow to minimize the transfers to the Collection Centers; customization of the bulky collection service)

– support the adoption of key enabling technologies in production processes in line with the regional innovation strategy for intelligent specialization: this with the use of navigation systems included in Micro and Nano electronics, i.e. components used for the production of goods and services intelligent control (including automotive).

 This technology is contained in the tractor and handheld equipment of the IDBOX system.

 And Through the use of this technology, the company will gain the following competitive advantage: innovation in the process of collecting differentiated waste;

– broaden the range of products and services offered by focusing on those less exposed to international competition, such as that of separate waste collection, a service that can be managed in person and not remotely;

– adopt new production models or innovative business models, this in consideration of how the corporate change process cannot fail to take advantage of the strong interaction existing between high-tech sectors that are relevant for the development of transversal technologies, and the traditional sectors that represent the a place where the application of transversal technologies can take place and make it possible to achieve significant advantages in terms of productivity and value on the business market.

 In this perspective, and in line with the provisions of the position paper of the European Commission services and the Regional Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialization (RIS3), the company intends to develop actions with which it will support the technological upgrade in its sector with the ” implementation of a Web portal and specific Apps.

 In addition, the differentiated collection process will be innovated with accumulation in roll-off cisterns which make it possible to minimize transfers to the Collection Centers; customization of the bulky collection service);

– orienting production towards higher quality segments: improving with the use of APP and Web Portal the quality of the service that is the basis of the CITIZEN-COMPANY-PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION relationship;

– adopt new organizational, management and control models: through the use of geolocation systems on means of transport and the website and the App, the procedure referred to in Legislative Decree no. 231/2001;

– improve response times and satisfaction of customer needs: with the use of the APP, the IDBOX system and the Web Portal, the quality of the service that is the basis of the CITIZEN-PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION relationship will be improved. While the reduction of service times will occur by acting on two fronts:

– response times: today the cycle of the separate collection service without the proposed innovations (which involve the use of mini-compactors and roll-offs on site) would last an average of 12 hours, which is the time elapsing between collection c / o ‘user, the filling of the collection tank and its conferment c / o collection centers; with the implementation of the proposed program (which provide for the use of mini-compactors and demountable units at the collection point in strategic points in urban centers) the material collected before transfer to the CoR will be fivefold, eliminating the waiting time of the operators of the two tanks empty collection; this results in a reduction in the work cycle of the service up to 6.40 hours / day;

– satisfaction of customer needs: through the use of the App and the website, the customer can customize the collection times of their bulky waste, with a personalization of the service for the customer, meeting their needs in terms of type and completeness of the service provided

– improve the safety of companies: the new machines available will reduce the business risk both in terms of safety in the workplace, as the new vehicles and equipment are of the latest generation also in terms of improving prevention and safety of workers as regards their normal use, since they will allow less risk of accidents for drivers since the number of extra-urban transfers will be reduced thanks to waste compaction and compression systems,

less effort for the loading of waste as there will be an increase in the level of safety for the risks deriving from the manual handling of loads, through the start of separate collection the chemical, carcinogenic and biological risk of workers will be reduced. Thanks to the technological systems of geolocation and remote control, the levels of security from criminal acts will be increased.

– Coherence of the investment with the thematic areas of intervention of the Regional Innovation Strategy for S3 specialization and Problem addressed.

The reference market (separate collection of municipal solid waste in Sicily) according to a survey conducted by FORMEZ presents, among other things, the following critical issues:

– financial difficulties which led to the almost total interruption of the RD service

– low rates of separate collection

– extension of the RD PaP service to the whole territory with the activation of new CCRs and the distribution of composters to families

– high management costs

– reduction of the tariff

– start-up of the RD PaP service also of the organic fraction of the MSW which will make it possible to further increase the RD level

– Computerized data monitoring: availability and reliability of data collected at local level

– Need to accelerate information and publicity initiatives at the local level

The proposed investment program:

– aims to facilitate the overcoming of these criticalities of the sector, in particular by aiming at the achievement of the general objective of ACTION 3.1.1 of the enterprises of the entire regional territory with the increase of the competitiveness of the enterprises in line with the provisions of the Regional Strategy of the innovation for intelligent specialization towards higher quality segments and with clear territorial competitive advantages.

 All this by improving the “Innovation rate of the production system” by introducing technological (in our case of process), organizational and marketing (through the web and apps) innovations in a company with at least 10 employees.

– in particular, it is fully consistent with the objectives identified by the 2014-2020 regional programming of action 3.1.1_02 a of the OP “Promoting the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises” as through the proposed investment program the company aims to increase own rate of technological innovation, also in line with the lines of the notice and the thematic areas of the regional S3 ENERGY AREA and SMART CITIES & COMMUNITIES AREA.

These objectives will be achievable through the implementation of the following actions:

– Improvement of the quality of the services offered, thanks to the use of specific and new low-emission equipment with a new collection procedure (also for the so-called organic): the improvement of the quality and the reduction of costs will allow to implement and increase the rate of separate collection, as the consumer confidence index will improve with respect to the RD system;

– Reduction of the cost of the service: with more efficient means and with the new collection process, there will be reductions in the costs of creating the service: these will translate into a reduction in costs for the public administration, for citizens and for businesses, with tariff costs;

– Service monitoring: thanks to the IDBOX system, App and website handhelds, reports on separate waste collection will always be available, for use and consumption by the company (to improve the service) and / or by the client public administration;

– Implementation of promotional campaigns: there will be awareness campaigns aimed at creating a social awareness of the rd with the possibility of creating further demand;

– Implementation of the opportunities offered by new technologies and web marketing, in an integrated way with the relevant thematic area of the regional S3

– Proposing party

Ecoin Srl . was born on 24 January 2006 in Porto Empedocle in the province of Agrigento. The company thanks to the transfer of the business branch of the thirty-year OMNIA TRASPORT SOC. COOP., A leading company in the reference area for waste collection and disposal services, has acquired the necessary know-how in order to immediately enter the same market, in particular in the collection, transport, recovery, treatment, also carrying out the services cleaning and washing of public areas and urban green management.

Thanks to the young and rampant governance, the company has gradually acquired more and more market shares to the point of becoming a reference company for the sector both in the Agrigento context and outside, also thanks to certified quality systems such as ISO 9001: 2008 , ISO 14001: 2004, BS OHSAS 18001: 2007, SA800: 2008 as well as the adoption of the Organization, Management and Control Model in compliance with the provisions of Legislative Decree no. 231/2001.

Ecoin Srl . boasts the registration in the “White list” of the Prefecture of Agrigento also obtaining the inclusion in the list of companies with Legality Rating.

– Place / places of realization of the project

The investment program will be located at the offices of ECOIN srl, and precisely at the headquarters of the local unit in Favara district of San Benedetto SP 15, ZI and at the legal and administrative office of Porto Empedocle in via Lincoln n. 30. The company will also use the equipment outside the premises, in consideration of the type of service provided (separate waste collection) in the Sicilian municipalities and companies.

– Potential Impact of the Investment

The waste market is a complex market because it embraces different areas: collection, micro collection, waste management, transformation, transport. Our company operates and will expand its own market which is that of collection, turning more and more attention to the separate collection of waste, where the needs and orientations of customers emerge with the public client turns its attention – by law – towards the differentiated, or towards a collection directly at the citizen’s home.

 And these will be the services to be satisfied, with the need to reduce inconvenience to users as much as possible.

Regarding the above, the basis of the very survival of businesses, today more than ever, is corporate effectiveness and efficiency with a related reduction in management costs, as well as an improvement in the quality of service.

The realization of the investment will allow the company to be able to carry out its business strategies to satisfy the needs of public, private and business customers, namely:

– Improve your service, intended as a reduction in time; customization of the service; reduction of the cost / price ratio of the service for the public administration, businesses and users; customer satisfaction with improvement of its image in the area. This thanks to the availability of new means of collection (HYBRID electric vehicles), new communication systems (PDAs of the IDBOX system available to operators

ecological) and a new waste management procedure in the city (waste collection will not take place with huge means, but with small electric vehicles which, once filled, will convey the waste in “compactors with compression system and roll-off containers” also sealed watertight, which once full will be destined for collection centers);

– Use of web / App friendly solutions, or use no longer of “toll-free numbers” for the management of user relations, but of a website in which to convey all the information necessary for the personalized use of the waste collection service (e.g. bulky) and a chat that allows the user to get in touch (also

visually) with the operator, bringing him closer to the manager; the activation of a specific APP will also be provided to communicate and report (through geolocation) the presence or need to proceed with the collection of hazardous and / or bulky waste;

– Improve the efficiency of the structure, understood as the optimization of internal processes that allows a reduction in production costs, which will allow the company to be much more competitive than its competitors, offering customers (administrations always with budget problems) an excellent service at a low cost.

The realization of the investment will allow the company to achieve the aims of the OP through the pursuit of the following results / objectives for the company:

– Growth in turnover estimated in the order of 20%

– Growth in company profitability estimated in the order of 20%

– Employment growth of n. 5 units

– Growth of the innovation rate: n. 1 company with process innovation

To achieve the aforementioned purposes, the proposed investment solutions are considered efficient as:

– They minimize the cost of making the investment since from a brief market analysis they are the lowest in the reference area

– Optimize the use of resources as a reduction in the unitary incidence rate of the cost per single unit of product (ton of waste collected) will be achieved

– Minimize the environmental impact with environmentally friendly solutions such as: use of electric vehicles, reduction of the collection circuit (HOME-DESTINATION OF WASTE).

2) Structure and contents of the Program

_

– General objectives of the Program.

– product analysis

The company operates in the waste collection sector, a sector in continuous evolution with the transition to separate collection. Organizational, managerial and infrastructural evolution becomes the very condition for the survival of companies and the ECOIN company .

From the point of view of the organization and management of the Separate Collection system, our company also with this investment program wants to carry out its activities in a manner consistent with the forecasts of the Regional PIER (regional energy policy plan) for which it operates by carrying out a monomaterial collection service for the following fractions: dry recyclable fraction such as: paper; plastic; metals and glass; organic fraction for Compost production; batteries and expired drugs; and for the delivery and storage of wood, steel and other bulky metals (furniture, mattresses, etc.), durable goods (small and large appliances, electrical and electronic, etc.), lead batteries and accumulators, hazardous urban waste , tires, agricultural sheets and other polyethylene materials, aggregates from urban circuits, and also waste from agriculture or weeding. In favor of private companies or other operators in the waste sector, the company carries out the service of collection of liquids (e.g. leachate), sludge and sheathing material, bulky and large industrial waste (e.g. wind turbines, industrial plants, etc.).

The program plans to expand its waste collection core business through this investment program.

Analysis of the target customers

Customers are represented by all those who need to dispose of waste in a differentiated way, in compliance with the law and in a context of prohibition of disposal in landfills. These are in particular companies (commercial, agricultural, artisanal, industrial) and private citizens for which the service is contracted out by the waste management commissioning centers (Municipalities and STR). There are also companies that are part of the waste cycle as they manage a sub-phase of the same, such as eg. composting plants (where the collected wet is delivered and which have leachate as a by-product), managers of purification plants (which have sheathing sludge as a by-product). All subjects, however, linked to the waste sector, directly and indirectly.

Competition analysis

The number of direct competitors at the provincial level is rather small as it is a market with a narrow base and characterized by authorized barriers to entry (it is difficult to obtain new authorizations to operate on the market) and infrastructural (to obtain authorizations and the technical and economic requirements required for participation in tenders for the sector require a considerable capacity in terms of organization, infrastructures, equipment and skills certified by international standards ISO 9001: 2008, ISO 14001: 2004, BS OHSAS 18001: 2007 , SA800: 2008 as well as the adoption of the Organization, Management and Control Model in compliance with the provisions of Legislative Decree No. 231/2001, registration in the White list). Often these are smaller subjects.

– positioning of the company in the reference market

The reference market is provincial in nature (which could become supra-provincial in the future), due to the need to manage a rather complex service on site. The company today occupies a fairly good position on the local market, but it needs to invest in order to expand its user base.

According to data provided by ISPRA (Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research), the production and separate collection of municipal waste in the municipalities of the province of Agrigento is low, and the low rates of separate collection highlighted a large margin for growth in the reference market in order to achieve the regional objectives of 65% in 2020 and the European objectives of 50%.

Sicily is the worst region in Italy as a percentage of recycling and interception per capita of separate waste collection, as evidenced by the VI Anci-Conai Database Report on separate collection and recycling of waste.

Planned activities

The phases and the time schedule for the implementation of the investment program can be exemplified as follows:

– Signing of a contract with companies that supply equipment and vehicles as per estimates (estimated time 1 months)

– Supply of equipment and vehicles (estimated time 3 months from the signing of the contract).

– Website and app creation (estimated time 3 months from the date of signing the agreement).

– Completion of the intervention and issued in operation: 4 months from the date of signing the agreement

– Final inspection (time scheduled for the 6th month from the date of signing the agreement).

In any case, the company plans to start the activities as early as October 2017 and to complete them by August 2018.

The implementation of this investment program is not particularly difficult given the immediate cantibility of the initiative, and technical feasibility neither building nor other economic-financial authorizations are required (for the realization of the investment the entrepreneur has of financial resources to cover the cost pertaining to its own responsibility equal to 55% as well as VAT equal to 22% and the

sums necessary for the ordinary management of the initiative)

Furthermore, the company program will be carried out directly by the chairman of the board of directors, who boasts a long period in the management of the company, knowing both the company needs and the suppliers of capital goods and company programs for the success of the proposed initiative.

 Success of the initiative which will be possible thanks to:

– consolidated economic-financial and equity capacity, financial resources and credibility between suppliers and credit institutions

– technical-organizational-managerial capacity: the company now has a fleet of about 100 vehicles, a number of employees of about 70 with an average experience of 20 years in the sector, possessing the technical and organizational skills for the realization of the ‘investment.

– risk management: being entrusted with the realization of the investment under the responsibility of Mr. Calabrò V., he has the right role and skills to reduce the corporate risk of bankruptcy of the initiative; he is not new to major investment programs in the company, representing he the manager of innovation in the company, done

today with its own resources.

The program was prepared with accuracy and detail of the design in terms of analytical elements to support or the adequacy of the work plan, including an adequate distribution of tasks and resources: the collaboration of expert technicians (engineer, consultants economic technicians) for the preparation of the business plan and related market surveys, as well as specialized suppliers for the preparation of detailed estimates.

The sustainability of the project initiative (not only of the investment program) and the company competitiveness also derives from the commercial and marketing strategies that the company decides to plan and follow.

In fact, the demand is determined not only by the development conditions of the waste sector, but also by how much the proposing company will be able to participate with offers that are not only economically advantageous, but also with innovative proposals in the various tenders for the collection of waste.

– Expected results from the realization of the investment.

– analysis of the economic advantage

Thanks to the use of the new equipment, the company will achieve the following competitive advantage: being able to have a fleet of machines, equipment, a new collection system and a management system for relations with users currently unavailable (by idea and capacity financial) to competing companies, if possible

thus effectively compete for public and private assignments.

The expected results from the realization of the project can be expressed in terms:

– economic results: growth in turnover estimated in the order of 20% – Growth in company profitability estimated in the order of 20%

– Social: employment growth of n. 5 Unity and Growth in the rate of innovation.

An interesting aspect of these interventions concerns the fact that, being structural interventions, they will produce their own benevolent effects for a medium-long period.

– Expected effect on the competitiveness of the company.

– reference market segment and potential market

To analyze our project proposal it is necessary to analyze the reference sector and the related market.

According to Eurostat information, integrated with ISPRA data as regards Italy, in 2014 in the EU 28 about 240.8 million tons of municipal waste were produced, 0.5% less than the previous year. In 2014, in the EU 28, around 28% of municipal waste managed is sent for recycling, around 16% for composting and digestion

anaerobic, while approximately 27% and 28% are, respectively, incinerated and disposed of in landfills. In 2015, the national production of municipal waste amounted to approximately 29.5 million tons, showing a reduction of 0.4% compared to 2014

In 2015, the production of municipal waste decreased in all geographical macro-areas, with a more significant percentage decline in Central Italy (-0.8%) and more contained in the South (-0.2%). In absolute value, the quantity of RU produced in 2015 amounted to 13.7 million tons in the North, 6.6 million tons in the Center and

9.2 million tons in the South.

In 2015, the percentage of separate waste collection reached 47.5% of national production, showing an increase of 2.3 points compared to 2014. As regards per capita collection, values equal to 122 kg per inhabitant per year in North, 101 kg / inhabitant per year in the Center and 70 kg per inhabitant per year in the South.

At national level, the per capita separate collection value of the organic fraction exceeds 100 kg per inhabitant per year.

Municipal waste disposed of in landfills in 2015 amounted to approximately 7.8 million tons, recording, compared to the 2014 survey, a reduction of approximately 16%, equal to almost 1.5 million tons of waste. Analyzing the data by geographical macro-area, it can be observed that the greatest reduction is attributable to the North (-26%), where approximately 680 thousand less tons of waste are disposed of in landfills. Reductions were recorded in the Center (-14%) and in the South (-12%)

more contained, but still significant.

Analyzing the Sicilian situation in more detail, the collection of urban waste in Sicily has always been carried out in a predominantly undifferentiated manner, with maximum and minimum percentages compared to the total harvest estimated between about 98% (year 1999) and 87% (year 2013) and, consequently, with a negligible rate of separate collection.

Examining the percentage trend in the period from 1999 to 2014, it is noted that the average of separate waste collection in Sicily has always been lower than the national and southern average, which in 2014 was more than double that of Sicily (28.9% against 13.4% and 31.3% against 12.5%), despite the fact that in 1999 the two percentages were almost identical (2% against 1.9%). In the three-year period 2012 – 2014 Sicily, among all regions,

it recorded the lowest percentage, total and per capita, of separate waste collection.

– identification of customer needs and orientation

Public clients turn their attention (by law) towards recycling, that is, towards a collection directly at the citizen’s home, who is increasingly eager for an accurate, unobtrusive, customizable and less expensive service. These will be the needs to be met and shared by the private client companies that the company will satisfy with this investment program, with which it will aim to reduce inconvenience to users as much as possible.

And then, the current urban waste management system presents numerous critical issues related to the high rate of landfill disposal, the modest percentage of recycling, crime and the growing level of arrears. In fact, the sector induces not only serious environmental burdens but also important economic costs connected to the overall inefficiency of the waste cycle and above all to the missed opportunities for the development of a supply chain.

industrial recycling.

In this reference context, having identified the main problems of waste management, our service will try to satisfy both the needs of public administrations that seek to promote separate collection and the needs of individual citizens through “door to door” waste collection that it will take place directly at the home of the individual user, reducing the efforts that citizens have to sustain in the differentiation operations and mitigating the inconveniences of individual users. All this will also make it possible to satisfy the transversal need, of administration and citizens, of urban decor.

Identification of the strategy to be adopted

The company strategies for satisfying the needs of business customers and citizens are:

– Improve your service, intended as a reduction in time; customization of the service; reduction of the cost / price ratio of the service for the public administration, businesses and users; customer satisfaction with improvement of its image in the area. This is thanks to the availability of new means of collection (HYBRID electric vehicles), new communication systems (PDAs of the IDBOX system available to ecological operators) and a new waste management procedure in the city (waste collection will not take place with enormous vehicles, but with small electric vehicles that once filled will convey the waste in “compactors with compression system and roll-off containers” also watertight, which once full will be sent to the collection centers);

– Use of web / App friendly solutions, or use no longer of “toll-free numbers” for the management of user relations, but of a website in which to convey all the information necessary for the personalized use of the waste collection service (eg bulky) and a chat that allows the user to get in touch (even visually) with the operator, bringing him closer to the manager; the activation of a specific APP will also be provided to communicate and report (through geolocation) the presence or need to proceed with the collection of hazardous and / or bulky waste;

– Improve the efficiency of the structure, understood as optimization of internal processes that allows a reduction in production costs, which will allow the company to be much more competitive than its competitors, offering clients (administrations always with budget problems) an excellent service at a low cost.

– description of the action plan (product, distribution, price, advertising, sales force)

The Marketing mix is the set of useful tools for marketing planning. It consists of 4 basic items, known as the 4Ps: Product, Price, Point of Sale, Promotion. When these elements are well calibrated, you are competitive and have the opportunity to be successful in the market, whatever it is.

Product: Waste is the thermometer of modern society and its management represents an index through which to determine the level of evolution of a people. The modern concept of waste was born during the second industrial revolution and indicates the difference between what is produced and what is used.

 Sicily, in the last twenty years, has never experienced a period of ordinary waste management. The succession of contingent and urgent procedures has made the emergency an endemic feature of the system. The incessant production of unsorted waste brings with it the need to dispose of it, with the side effect of allowing the expansion of organized crime, which has made a business of landfills. The service offered by our company aims to help combat this phenomenon, offering an opportunity to public administrations to get out of the logic of burying waste tout court: the few necessary landfills must be aimed at the final storage of the residual part of non-recoverable or non-recoverable material. otherwise usable.

Redesign, prevention, reuse, recovery and recycling are not only mechanisms to reduce the amount of waste to be disposed of, but represent a necessary consequence of the principle of sustainable development

Price: thanks to the synergies generated within the structure and the reduction of costs generated by the raising and rationalization of internal business processes, it will be possible to offer an effective and efficient and widespread service at a lower price than that of potential competitors.

Advertising: it is considered essential to create a target brand that reflects the image, positioning but above all the values of our structure. This line of action is not resolved in the creation of a logo but provides for the alignment of all the graphic activities both internal and external, so that the image of the structure is coordinated on all means and channels. A monitoring system will be adopted

and destination reputation management that allows you to manage the image disclosed on social media.

To promote our company we will apply a Green Marketing action , the aim of which is to communicate new cultural codes of behavior that are more respectful of the environment, more ethical, more sustainable, in one word more “green”, proposing a new lifestyle to citizens, since the increase in the level of material to be reused, accompanied by a correct planning of the plants in the local area, not only favors economic savings in the production chain, but significantly decreases the transfer of waste to landfills.

This action will have at least 5 fundamental characteristics (the 5 “I” of Green Marketing), ie it will be:

1. Intuitive, able to make ecological alternatives accessible, understandable and normal for citizens;

2. Integral, it must combine the ecological aspect with the commercial, technological and social one. Business results must be integrated with environmental ones. The citizen is called to act;

3. Innovative, it must produce true innovation that creates new products and new lifestyles;

4. Inviting, it must underline the positive aspect and the palatability of green choices, thus freeing environmentalism from the aura of inconvenience and sacrifice;

5. Informed, it must stimulate environmental education and the active participation of citizens

Communication initiatives (advertising, promotions, projects, sponsorships, public relations) will be carried out using different means of communication including social media (by their nature tools with low environmental impact) and unconventional marketing (events, projects, guerrilla marketing).

All the initiatives we will undertake will be characterized by:

to. Clarity, the message communicated by the company will be understandable for the recipients, both in language and in content. There will be no misunderstandings;

b. Accuracy and Specificity, the communication will be complete, not generic, and will refer to specific and concrete aspects, avoiding vague statements;

c. Relevance, the information will focus on environmental aspects that are truly significant for the service and will not claim false merits;

d. Consistency, the characteristics of the service presented will be consistent with the context in which the service is distributed;

And. Reliability, it is necessary that the environmental information, in addition to being truthful, is also verifiable and verified, therefore the source of the information will be indicated and accompanied with environmental data;

f. Comparability, information is all the more important as it can offer a basis for a competitive comparison of the product with competitors;

g. Visibility, the information should be easily readable. We will apply greater standardization of the information format, so as not to confuse consumers.

Our goal is to communicate in an ethical, direct and transparent way the company activities with a green imprint and to educate consumers about the green culture, encouraging citizens to carry out separate collection.

Point of sale: our company structure will not be identified in a specific physical space because it will offer a “door to door” service, which will arrive directly in the homes of every citizen. A

customized waste collection system, which will meet the needs of individuals and will contribute to raising the standards of urban urban decor.

 Innovative aspects of the program

With this program, the company will achieve an “innovation of the organization” through the application of new organizational methods in the working practices of the service performed, in the organization of the

workplace or in the external relations of the company with customers (citizens, public administration and companies), providing for a significant improvement (service delivery techniques, equipment or software).

The company therefore wants to adopt new production models or innovative business models, this in consideration of how the process of corporate change cannot fail to take advantage of the strong interaction existing between high-tech sectors that are relevant for the development of transversal technologies, and sectors

which represent the place where the application of transversal technologies can take place and make it possible to achieve significant advantages in terms of productivity and competitive added value on the business market.

With this in mind:

– in line with the provisions of the position paper of the European Commission services and the Regional Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialization (RIS3), the company intends to develop actions with which it will support the technological upgrade in its sector with the implementation of a Web portal and specific App:

it is a website in which to convey all the information necessary for the personalized use of the waste collection service (e.g. bulky) and a chat that allows the user to enter into contact (also visually) with the operator, bringing it closer to the manager; App to communicate and report (through geolocation) the presence or need to collect hazardous and / or bulky waste; this will be done thanks to the use of specific APPs that will allow you to customize the bulky collection service.

– In addition, the separate collection process will be innovated: waste collection will not take place with enormous means, but with small electric vehicles which, once filled, will convey the waste in “compactors with compression system and roll-off containers” also watertight, which a once full they will be destined to the collection centers, making it possible to minimize transfers to the CoR;

 Objective of the program and expected results :

The objective of the investment program is certainly to increase corporate profits.

Following the realization of the investment thanks to the corporate reorganization and the use of technologies, the aim is to:

– reduce production costs, for which a reduction of the order of 15% is expected (mostly represented by costs for fuels);

– Increase turnover in the full year of the order of € 1,500,000.00 compared to the current figure;

– In this way, to increase company profitability up to € 300,000 in the year when fully operational;

The company will achieve these results because it will increase its competitiveness index in the reference market thanks to:

– Corporate reorganization: with a new and more efficient process for providing the collection service;

– Expansion of the services rendered, with expansion of the possibility of providing the services in n. 3 other municipalities for a total of approximately n. 50,000 inhabitants;

– Use of new generation machines that are more technologically advanced than those in use: electric vehicles, compactors with compression system, roll-offs, new euro 6 tractors with geo-locators, new handhelds with IDBOX system and web and app connections.

– Experience gained in the reference production sector.

Ecoin Srl was born on 24 January 2006 in Porto Empedocle in the province of Agrigento. The company thanks to the transfer of the business branch of the thirty-year OMNIA TRASPORT SOC. COOP., A leading company in the reference area for waste collection, transport and disposal services, has acquired the necessary know-how in order to immediately enter the same market, in particular in the collection, transport,

recovery, treatment, also carrying out the cleaning and washing services of public areas and the management of urban green areas.

 In fact, there are many experiences currently underway such as

– MUNICIPALITY OF PORTO EMPEDOCLE (AG), where the sweeping, collection and transport service is carried out for the disposal of differentiated and unsorted municipal solid waste, including assimilated ones, beach cleaning and other public hygiene services;
